Well, I didn’t make any progress on the story. Besides the bucket problem I was still working to resolve, I then had to deal with my computer not letting me save because I was supposedly out of memory, despite having nearly 8 gigs available. I had been running a dual-boot machine, but I never use the Windows partition, so I decided to nuke that and open up that half of my hard drive. Doing backups, making a new boot disk, then reapportioning the hard drive took up much of the evening, with the rest mostly spent with me being unconscious. This of course means that I won’t be making my deadline, so we’ll just have to push it to next week. I will try to continue my work over the weekend as my energy level and the office productivity specialist permit.
In other news, while my kiddos have been doing in-class work on their group projects, I’ve been reading the Eddas, so that will be helping with TKoH. That’s at least something productive. Anyway, I’ll be getting back to work. Stay tuned.

I made some more progress on Chapter 17 of RttW, but it was shy of quota because I got hung up on buckets, an item I haven’t accounted for yet. I have to sort that out so I can be consistent about STR limitations. Will this cause me to miss my deadline? That’ll entirely depend on how much I can get done Friday. Stay tuned.

I didn’t figure the whole sentence I wrote Tuesday was enough to warrant a post. Wendesday, however, I very nearly hit quota, which isn’t bad, but I need to make up for lost time. I’m close to finishing the first scene and I’m thinking about just having two scenes to the chapter, so I’ve got a good shot at meeting my deadline. Now I’ve just got to make it happen. Stay tuned.

I started in on Chapter 17 of RttW but came in under quota. A new wave of work-work came in, so that’s going to be occupying a fair bit of my time for the next few days. I’ll try to move things along as much as I can, though. Stay tuned.

Another day of minor progress on Chapter 12 of CoP. Kinda wish I’d devoted more time to it because I’m pretty sure I’m just shy of finishing it. I guess that still leaves me in a very advantageous position for next cycle. In the meantime, I need to think about switching over to RttW. We’ll see how it goes this week. Stay tuned.

Again I only managed to make minor progress on Chapter 12 of CoP. It was a long daggone day and I conked out not once but twice in the evening. What fun. And because the school knows we’re on pins and needles waiting to see who gets admitted for the coming school year, they’re kind enough to invite us into the office on Sunday just so we can find out before the work week starts. Lovely.
Anyway, I’ve met my deadline for the story update, but I intend to see how much farther I can get in CoP before the weekend is out. There’s some other stuff I’d like to get done as well, so we’ll see how it goes. Stay tuned.

I made minor progress on Chapter 12 of CoP. While most weeks this would just be a sign of me continuing to lag behind in my goals, I’ve gotten far enough ahead that I can weather a day or two of minimal productivity. I’m close to the end of the chapter, which will put me ahead of the game next cycle. That’s always good news. Now if I can only manage something similar in the other stories. Stay tuned.

I finished Chapter 11 of CoP and made started in on Chapter 12. I should be able finish it in another day or two and maybe dig into Chapter 13 as well. Actually getting ahead for change sure feels nice. Maybe I could try making a habit of it. Stay tuned.

I managed to pretty well get through the evening without just conking out and did a proper bit of writing while I was at it as well. I’m almost done with Chapter 11 of CoP, which means I have an opportunity to get some lead time built up. Actually, the second scene of this chapter was something I’d written years ago, but I ended up reworking a fair bit. I kinda want to do more scenes with Rio and Kirik now. We’ll see what happens. Stay tuned.

I guess I just have to accept that I’m not going to have productive evenings during the workweek. However, once I came back around, I actually did manage to make some decent progress on Chapter 11 of CoP. It’s nice to get over quota for a change.
Besides the work on CoP, I was also doing some work in the Tellus Arc peripheral materials. You see, I was thinking about how Mark from the KoG series got his name and I came up with the idea that when Gregor the Guardian married Flavia Corinthia, his father-in-law Flavius Sapphirus adopted Gregor and created House Aran as a branch of House Flavius with the cognomen Aquila. (I had previously intended for an Aquila branch of House Flavius in Eagle but decided to rework it.) As a result, Mark was born with the Patrician name Marcus Flavius Aquila Anselmus Minor. (The former Hiram the Guardian is getting his name changed to Anselm and he was also given a Patrician name after Gregor’s marriage. Mark would then be named after him.) Mark would later change his cognomen to “Christopherus” after joining the High Templars. Now, Luther had no particular love for the Patricians, but he was at least level-headed enough to see the political advantage of maintaining inroads in Patrician society, hence the choice of Mark’s naming.
In other news, I’m getting close to wrapping up my work-work for a bit, so that will hopefully translate to more writing time. Stay tuned.
