As you’ve no doubt noticed if you’ve been to the main site, I managed to finish Chapter 9 of CoP in time to post for my first story update in nearly two months. It was a good idea trying to set aside time after supper to focus on writing, but I’m going to have to enforce it more strictly. Dailies need to be put on hold and all that. (However, the office productivity expert demanding time for team-building exercises will have to take priority.) I think the deadline helped me keep from dragging out the fight scene too long, which was probably a good thing. If I recall, RttW is next in the pipe, but in the meantime I might try jotting down some of the stuff that’s been floating around in my head for that budding project. Stay tuned.

I didn’t make as much progress as I would’ve liked on Chapter 9 of CoP, so I once again find myself with the prospect of trying to power through right before the deadline. Probably if I don’t drag out the fight scene too much longer, I can make it. The choreography is rather tricky, but I’ll see what I can do. stay tuned.

Well, that didn’t last long. On Day 2, I’m already stumbling on my brilliant plan to restart productivity. Appropriately, the office productivity specialist was partially to blamecredit, not that I begrudge some quality time with her.

I did make progress on Chapter 9 of CoP, but I came in under quota. I started late and conked out early, but I did spend some more time after coming to so that I didn’t end up quite as short. I was having to do some research for the scene, so that was eating up a decent chunk of time as well. Well, let’s try to make up for it tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Even though I promised it, I’m honestly a bit surprised I put in a proper day’s quota for the first time in a long time. My nearly five-week obsession with genealogical work is currently on pause after spending the greater part of three days of my four-day weekend trying to link up two different branches of my family, only for the connection to break. I’m pretty confident the connection is there, but it’s going to take some work and there’s no guarantee based on the information I currently have on hand. I could do more digging, but I’m kinda happy to switch gears.

I’ve not only picked things back up Chapter 9 of CoP but also did a little work on that little project in the embryonic stage at the moment. It needs a fair bit more development before I make an official announcement on it. Also, I’ve started a new idea to dedicate at least an hour after supper to writing. Usually I get too wrapped up in dailies in the evening (and the inaugural effort didn’t actually start until 2130) , but this seems to be a more reliable way to get some work done when I’ve still got some of my mental acuity.

We’ll see how long I can continue the new plan. I’ve got a few work-work tasks to accomplish, but other than that, I should have a fairly chill next couple weeks. Let’s see what I can get done. Stay tuned.

Once again, if it weren’t for me doing the bare minimum of continuing the review posts, you might get it in your head that I’d fallen off the face of the Earth. The reason is threefold: 1) Things have been rather busy at work lately and probably won’t let up until finals, which start in two weeks. 2) Mostly due to the former, I’ve been quite thoroughly exhausted by the time I get home and the trick of two-shift sleeping so that I can get some writing done in the middle isn’t working at the moment. 3) My current obsession with genealogical research has been eating up the vast majority of the free time I have with the mental acuity to do anything useful.

Despite all this, I did spend a little time jotting down a bit (though nowhere near as much as I intended) of a idea that’s been floating around in my head for a while. Yes, I can hear your objections to me starting in on a new project when I have three in serialization that have been stalled for months now, but when inspiration strikes, I have to act on it. There is a very slim possibility of me powering through the fight scene in Chapter 9 of CoP and actually posting by the evening, so we’ll see what happens. Stay tuned.
