I did some writing in the WttW guide, focusing on the different types of defamation offenses. For those of you who’ve read Chapter 14 of RttW, you’ll know this was prompted by my mention of “lèse-nobilité”. Now, as far as my cursory research goes, while not a unique invention of my own (as I could find a few citations of people with a similar idea), I couldn’t find a historical precedent for lèse-nobilité, but it struck me as reasonable to make a distinct offense from lèse-majesté. However, as a way to bridge the historical crime and my invention, I explain it as insulting the nobility was originally covered by lèse-majesté under the idea that as vassals to the King, an insult to the nobility is an insult to their liege. However, lèse-nobilité developed into a separate charge to make it easier to scale the sentencing. Speaking of sentencing, I need to work on that and explain the degrees of both lèse-majesté and lèse-nobilité, but that’s a task for another day. Stay tuned.

I put the finishing touches on Chapter 14 of RttW and hope to get a head-start on Chapter 15 before the weekend is out. There’s also some work in the peripheral materials I’d like to get done. Things to keep me out of the beer joints. We’ll see what I can get done. Stay tuned.

After sleeping through the evening, I was able to pick myself up and get enough writing done on Chapter 14 of RttW to make up for the shortfalls earlier in the week. I only have a bit to go and the chapter will be ready to go. Stay tuned.

I made a little progress on Chapter 14 of RttW, under quota but something is better than nothing. I think a good push would get me through. We’ll see how it goes. Stay tuned.

It was looking like I wasn’t going to get any progress done at all, but I applied my down-up-down formula to get a couple hours of writing in and meet quota on Chapter 14 of RttW. I’ve taken the scene in a rather dangerous direction in-universe, so I’m going to have to do a little legwork to write myself out of the mess I’ve gotten into. Fun, fun, fun. We’ll see what the morrow brings. Stay tuned.

I spent a fair bit of time just going back through what I’ve already written on Chapter 14 of RttW just to get back in the swing of things before continuing on, so I didn’t think I was going to get any writing done at all, but I did at least go ahead and bridge into the next sequence of the chapter. Not much, but it’s something. More to come. Stay tuned.

Most of the time I spent writing was focused on reviews, but I did spend a little time getting Chapter 9 of CoP started. I’ll be switching over to RttW, so hopefully I can get the chapter out this time, especially since things are bound to get hectic again once school starts back up next week. Stay tuned.

I crashed rather early yesterday evening, earlier than normal and before I could really get into the work I meant to do, but I came to in the wee hours and managed to finish Chapter 8 of CoP while watching the sun rise (and then went back to bed). This means I’ll make this week’s update and I may try to get a head-start on the next chapter while working on the reviews for Sunday. Stay tuned.

As mentioned last time, I had several things to juggle, so I didn’t make as much story progress as I would’ve liked, but I did still make some fair progress on Chapter 8 of CoP. It didn’t help that I crashed hard in the evening right at the moment where I had everything else sorted and was going to focus on writing. You’d think by now I’d learn that I can’t get that particular strategy to work. Anyway, I have Friday off so I can deal with some matters, so other than those matters, I should have a decent bit of time to actually write if I manage to use my time as I should. Stay tuned.

Although I came short of quota, I still managed some respectable progress on Chapter 8 of CoP, starting with me sorting out the basic organization of the Mad Dogs (the mercs from Chapter 7), which gave me my jumping off point. I’ll be juggling this, some work-work and tending to the mascot, so we’ll see where we go from here. Stay tuned.
