WIP Update – 15 Sep 13
I made some progress on Chapter 16 of Tico3. Not a whole lot, but a decent chunk of the dialog was written. It may prove to be a fairly short chapter. Not quite sure yet. Stay tuned.

As I said last time, I got Chapter 15 of Tico3 done. (It does get a little confusing seeing as how I make these post on the day after the time in question and I blurred the line a bit in the previous post.) I also got a couple lines of Chapter 16 written before I passed out. (It’s funny how little energy you have after 30+ miles on an exercise bike.) I guess I need to switch back to TTWC1 to stay on schedule.
I have a couple gigs shaping up, so I’m not sure how it’ll affect my writing schedule. We’ll see.
Again I fell short of my goal but (spoiler alert) I have managed to get things done today. Sorting things out took a little more time than I expected, plus I passed right the freak out in the middle of filling out the sequence. I’ve kinda spoiled the next update, but you’ll get a chapter tomorrow, so yay.
I’ve made progress on Chapter 15, but I haven’t gotten it done like I planned. Choreographing the action setpiece is taking a little more work than I was counting on in my earlier projection. It’s not that elaborate, but I’ve still got to put it together. Hopefully I should finish today. This might mean the release gets pushed back to Thursday, but we’ll see.
I’ve pretty well finished the dialog for Chapter 15 of Tico3 and have added in the narrative for the first section. All I have to do is fill in the narrative for the second section, which may take more doing as we’ve got more action there. Still, my goal is to finish it today, so a Wednesday release isn’t off the table.
I made some decent headway on Chapter 15 of Tico3 and taking Labor Day into consideration, I might just surprise everyone and have the chapter ready on time. It’d be nice, wouldn’t it?
I finished Chapter 14 of Tico3 (as you’ll soon see), so I guess I’m going to have to switch gears back to TTWC1 soon. I’ve also been going ahead and getting the meta-tag summaries written up so it’ll be one less thing to do as future updates roll in.
I didn’t make as much progress as I would’ve liked yesterday. I swear, sometimes I wonder if actually having a job would consume less of my time than looking for one. Anyway, I did mostly wrap up another section and have two more to go. This may mean the release date gets pushed back to Thursday, but we’ll see.
I actually did have some incremental progress from Saturday, but I feel kinda silly reporting so little. I realize that the whole point of these WIP update posts is to keep a running log of progress great and small, but sometimes it feels like I’m just wasting everyone’s time saying, “Yeah, I managed to write a few lines of dialog. Whee.”
Anyway, putting Saturday and Sunday together, I’ve finished the dialog for Chapter 14 of Tico3 and filled in the narration for two and a half sections. I just have two and a half more to go, so I stand a good chance of getting the chapter out on schedule. The actual content of the chapter has changed a fair bit from my original (albeit barebones) plan, so the name is going to be changed from the former “Phalanx” to “View from the Back”. You’ll see what it means when the time comes. Until then.
I didn’t get much work done. My progress was mostly conceptual, figuring out the flow of the chapter, which I suppose is no small part of the work. I made the token gesture of getting at least a line done for each section. I know that’s not saying much.
