I managed to get through Chapter 1 of TG at long last. It’ll probably take me most of Saturday to transcribe everything, though. I need to spend some time thinking about the course of the story. I’ve pretty well gotten the first third battened down and I have the major turning point in the third act, but that still leaves a lot of story to fill in. Things to do, things to do. Stay tuned.

More progress on Chapter 1 of TG. Before you start thinking I’m not actually getting far, this is proving to be a rather long chapter. I wouldn’t be surprised if the final tally is in the ballpark of 10K words. I generally don’t like to have any one chapter be more than around 5K, but the length of chapters is determined by the demands of the plot, not considerations of wordcount. Chapter 2 was written a good while back, so it’d be nice to at least break some ground on Chapter 3 before the weekend’s out. We’ll see. Stay tuned.

I continue to make progress in Chapter 1 of TG (as I will now refer to Tzipi’s Garden for short). Right now the built-up inspiration is driving me so hard that I’m not even spending any of my off-hours playing BotW (though I’ll admit to running out of steam a bit on that front regardless). This is the kind of thing I like to see. We’ll see how far I get. Stay tuned.

Going forward with my plan to put TSoA1 on hiatus for a while, I decided to work on Tzipi’s Garden this week. I noticed the difference right away, making god progress on Chapter 1 and doing a little tweaking on the prologue. I realize it’s going to be that much longer before the Earth Arc gets any representation beyond “Nobody Likes the Chocolate Ones”, but I’ve got to go where the inspiration takes me. More to come. Stay tuned.

Besides some idle edits and additions to the prologue of Tzipi’s Garden, I didn’t get any story writing done, but I did continue my work sorting out the timeline for TBP, adding, deleting and moving several chapters, rendering my comment yesterday about the chapter order obsolete. (Now the old Chapter 3 has been pushed up to Chapter 8 and because that’s a long time to be without any mention of Cassandra, I have a new Chapter 3 and revived a previously deleted chapter to take the Chapter 5 slot.) I think I’ve finally got it all battened down, though. I still need to rearrange the chapters in the manuscript itself. Whee fun. We’ll see what work gets done tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Again I wound up working on Tzipi’s Garden instead of TTWC3, but a new week’s starting and hopefully I can redirect my focus. Stay tuned.

I’ll admit it. I only wrote a couple paragraphs on Simona’s Chapter 4 of TTWC3. Normally that wouldn’t be enough to warrant a post, but I did spend an inordinate amount of time putting together the family tree of the Redgrave royal family for Tzipi’s Garden. That warrants mention, I believe. It was somewhat nightmarish to craft because there are basically six noble families that intermarry generation after generation. I know it’s fairly plausible given a historical view of the aristocracy, but that’s a lot of dang incest. -_- Because I strayed from the beaten path in the latter half of the week, I think I’ll stick with TTWC3 and try to round out Simona’s section. Stay tuned.

I know I said I was going to work on TTWC2, but I worked on Tzipi’s Garden instead. Doing quite a bit in the peripheral materials but also some writing on the story itself. What can I say? I had an image of a character flossing her dragon’s teeth and had to see it through. Anyway, we’ll see if I can at least get Simona’s Chapter 4 done before the weekend’s out. Stay tuned.

I managed to continue to stray off the beaten path. I did some more writing on Tzipi’s Garden and added Candidate 03 into the mix. I am a believer of following up on inspiration when it strikes, after all. And while I still may spend some time with one, the other or both, I will try to at least get through Simona’s Chapter 4 before the weekend’s out. I’ve got a fair bit of homework to do but not so much that I shouldn’t be able to knock out a fair bit of writing too. Stay tuned.

I managed to finish up Simona’s Chapter 3 of TTWC3 and make a little headway on her Chapter 4, then I made a surprise turn and did some writing on Chapter 23 of Tzipi’s Garden. “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,” you say. “Did you somehow magically write the past 22 chapters when no one was looking?” No. In fact, beyond the first couple chapters I still don’t have much of anything set for the plot. So why Chapter 23? Well, Chapter 23 happens to feature the event that inspired the entire book, so that explains why it was sticking in my mind and I wanted to flesh it out on the page a little more. Anyway, TTWC3 is supposed to be my focus for this week, so I’ll try to stay on task. Stay tuned.
