I managed to make some progress on Chapter 21 of Tico3 n the midst of a sudden groundswell of assignments in my new translation gig. I was starting to think it wasn’t going anywhere, but if I can get a stream of assignments like this even once a week, I won’t be doing too shabbily. There are no guarantees, though, so I’m going to need to hedge my bets. Trying to get things together for my next big step does draw some attention away from my writing, but I’m staying on top of it so far. Hopefully I can maintain these regular updates into the foreseeable future.

I made a little progress on Chapter 21 of Tico3. Not much, but enough to warrant a post. It really has taken quite a different turn than I originally envisioned, but I think that’s a good thing. It’s providing an interesting new perspective on the situation.
I’ve said that I plan on making a commentary post when Chapter 20 drops to provide some exposition on the political system in the Earth Union. I think I’ll also be making a post after Chapter 21 to explain the Martian Militia a little more. Stay tuned.

I made a little progress on Chapter 21 of Tico3. Minecraft’s utter brutality towards me yesterday may well see me devoting less time to it and more to writing, which is where my attention should be. Stay tuned.

Given the previous post, you’d be surprised to hear that I actually have managed to make some fresh progress. I’ve finished most of the narrative for Chapter 20 of Tico3, so I actually have a solid three-week buffer to absorb some of the impact of my new Minecraft obsession. ^_^;

I didn’t make any story progress, but I did work on the peripheral materials some. This will come into play when I post Chapter 20 because I plan on making a commentary piece explaining the political system of the Earth Union a bit.

It’s been a while since you’ve seen one of these posts, but I was able to focus a bit and fill out most of the narrative for Chapter 19 of Tico3. We’ll see if I add an extra sequence or not. I kinda like where it’s stopping now, but I might go ahead and write the additional sequence and see what happens. Stay tuned.

Today’s been so hectic I almost forgot to post about yesterday’s progress. I’ve mostly finished up the dialog for Chapters 19 and 20 of Tico3, so I just need to flesh out the narrative and I’ll finally have a little bit of a buffer set up to match TTWC1’s.

After a day without progress, I managed to get a little dialog done in Chapter 20 of Tico3. I planned on doing more, but I kinda conked out while I was at it and, when I came to a couple hours later, decided to go on to bed. Here’s to getting more done today.

I wrote a little dialog on Chapter 19 of Tico3 and played around some with the peripheral materials. That’s about it, really.

I’ve pretty well finished Chapter 18. Now all I have to do is let it sit until Wednesday and go back over it before posting it to the site. Given my lead on TTWC1, I may continue to stick with Tico3 this week and try to get a little ahead in the story.
I’m a little worried about how the Battle of Mars Arc is weighted heavily in favor of the Army and Marines with a little high-level Navy stuff interspersed. We’ll see, though. I may opt to continue as it’s laid out and then reevaluate the whole when it’s done. I’m thinking about how Jeff’s plotline was so dominant in Volume II (though rightfully so) and I have some concerns with the balance of the cast. Even though Matt is ostensibly the protagonist, the Tico series isn’t like, say, KoG where the protagonist overwhelmingly retains his spot center stage. Maybe I’m on the right track in spite of my concerns. Who knows? We’ll see how things develop.
