I made some more progress on Chapter 16 of JJ, actually beating par for a change, but I still fell short of the goal of finishing the chapter. I’ll just have to pick it up on the next round. In the meantime, it’s time for TTWC3 to have a turn. Stay tuned.

I made more progress on Chapter 16 and by more I mean significantly more headway than previous days, which had all been well under par, and I can thank my work on the ship’s layout for that. It makes a big difference. Whether I can get through the chapter before I switch over remains to be seen, but I’ll give it the old college try. Stay tuned.

I made a little more progress on Chapter 16 of JJ, but more time was spent on the ship’s layout. You wouldn’t think three decks 133m x 21m would fill up so fast, but simply accommodating the crew, to say nothing of cargo, armaments and various combat systems get you packed from bulkhead to bulkhead. I really don’t think I should make too many passageways any narrower than a meter, but a few places you have to go sideways to squeeze through. Maybe now that I’ve got a fairly clear idea of where Root and the gang need to go from point to point I can focus on getting the chapter done. Stay tuned.

I made a little more progress on Chapter 16 of JJ, but again most of my time was dedicated to a non-writing task. I’ve been working out the layout of Junker-class cruisers to better visualize the flow of the action in the chapter. With my previous experience being the sprawling America-class heavy carriers from the Tico series, it’s quite a challenge to accommodate a crew of 277 in so much less space. I’m probably being more generous with some of the spaces than most real-life equivalents would be, which is why I’m finding myself so hard-pressed to get everything in. Still, I think I have enough to go on to finish plotting out the chapter. Stay tuned.

I fell off the radar there for a bit. A mix of homework and family stuff kept me occupied. I got some writing done on Chapter 16 of JJ but spent a lot more time working out the horrific death toll of the story. Things get messy, to say the least. Spoiler alert. If I could get two chapters knocked out this week, that’d be great, but as 16 is going to be a long one, getting it done would suffice for me. Stay tuned.

I made more progress on Chapter 18 of EM. I think I’ve got a handle on the setup that I’d been hung up on. Should have it done before the weekend’s out. Stay tuned.

I managed to make up for missing a day by writing a little on Chapter 18 of EM, going ahead and finishing Chapter 19 and making some tweaks to the already finished Chapter 20. I decided to jump ahead because I’m having a little difficulty with the setup for Chapter 18. Even the progress I made bypasses the part that has me stuck. I’ll figure it out, though.
Given that today is the site’s anniversary, I thought I’d take a moment to look back at what all happened in the past year. I finished TTWC1 and Tico4, started up TTWC2 with the inauguration of Tellus Tuesday (close to a concept I’d wanted to institute since the site’s inception) and also resumed EM and started JJ. I debuted the reviews section (which now has over 200 reviews in the movie section alone), added teasers for three stories in the Cross Arc, and launched the Else Arc. All told, that’s not a bad bit of work.
I’ve already got ideas for five or so stories that may be greenlit for preproduction in the the near future in addition to all the stuff I promised in the anniversary post. I’d say there’s more than enough to look forward to. Stay tuned.

After two days with no appreciable progress, I managed to pretty well wrap up Chapter 17 of EM and do a little writing on Chapters 18 and 19. It helped put into focus the fact that I may well be done within the next three or four cycles. That’s certainly something to look forward to. I suppose I’ll be switching over to TTWC3 for time being. Hopefully I can get farther than I did last month when I fell off the wagon. Stay tuned.

I did a little better this time around with my progress on Chapter 17 of EM. If it didn’t meet par, it came close enough to it. It shouldn’t be too hard to wrap the chapter up with another day’s work. Stay tuned.
