I’ve made more progress on Chapter 5 of JJ, a bit under quota, but that’s offset by a rather substantial amount of work I’ve been doing in the peripheral materials. You see, the encyclopedia for JJ was originally written to be concurrent with the story, but I’ve since modified it to cover events a good 30 or so years after the story ends. I don’t think it’s a big spoiler to say that Miravel, the world where JJ takes place, is on the block for Reclamation by the Empire. Well, after the events of the story, there’s a world war between the nations willing to submit and those who resist. Besides updating entries in the encyclopedia to account for the aftermath, I also drew up the revised world map. There were other things like expanded family trees and more fleshed out geographical information, but I know that story progress is what I’m supposed to be reporting first and foremost. I’m not that far off from finishing Chapter 5 and while finishing Chapter 6 over the weekend may be a stretch, I can at least make some good headway. Stay tuned.

I’ve made some progress in Chapter 5 of JJ. Another day should be enough to wrap things up unless I decide to add another section. I don’t think I will, though. If I could get through Chapter 7 before the weekend’s out, that’d be fantastic, but we’ll see how far I manage to get. Stay tuned.

With my stated goal of trying to finish Chapter 5 before the weekend’s out, it’s going to sound odd for me to say that I wrote on Chapter 8 instead. The reason for this is that I use OpenOffice Writer and the word counter doesn’t always work right, so I have to highlight the entire document. This then kicks me to the end and I work my way back up. I just happened to stop on Chapter 8 on the way and decided to write on it for a while. I doubt I’ll finish Chapter 5, but maybe I can at least get one or two sections done before I switch over to something else. Stay tuned.

I finished up Chapter 4 and did some work on Chapter 5 of JJ. I’ve expanded the scope of the latter, so finishing it this weekend may be out of reach. If I can manage the time after finishing my homework, I’ll try to make it happen. Stay tuned.

I got Chapter 4 of JJ all but finished, just lacking a good paragraph or two. I also drafted a complete roster of the crew of the Junker Jorg‘s rival, the Junker Woland. I may not actually need this information much in the course of writing the book, but it’s nice to have. Also did some writing in the peripheral materials. Looks like my goal for the week is perfectly obtainable. Stay tuned.

With all the homework I have to do and the craziness of the weekend, it’s little surprise I haven’t been able to make time to get much writing done. It would seem that Wednesday is my primary window of opportunity, where I have a 90-minute break between classes. Now that things are leveling out, I should be able to get writing done on Friday through Sunday as well and maybe I can start to eke out a little more beyond that. We’ll see.

On to the subject at hand, I made a little more progress on Chapter 4 of JJ. Still just a little bit shy of finishing it. If I could get through Chapters 4 and 5 by the end of the weekend, that’d be great. Stay tuned.

Yeah, as expected, I haven’t gotten much writing done so far this week. I did make some progress on Chapter 7 of JJ and did a little work in the peripheral materials. It may take me a while to adjust to my new schedule, but I’ll try to make what progress I can when I can. Stay tuned.

I did a little more writing on Chapter 4 of JJ. Getting really close to finishing it, which will put me in all the better of a position when its serialization begins. I probably should make sure I have as good a lead on EM as well. Also wouldn’t hurt to push myself to wrap up TTWC2. If I can get myself to start writing regularly again, these things won’t be that big of a problem. We’ll see if I can manage it or not. Stay tuned.

I almost wonder if I should expand the scope of these posts to include reviews or simply resign myself to the fact that I’ve been terrible about meeting quota lately. I think that I’m simply going to have to recommit myself to dedicating the time needed to make story progress. I certainly ought to be making time to pursue my calling and not just spend my days playing video games, watching movies and listening to LPs. Well, as I try to restore my resolve, I can say that I made a little progress on Chapter 4 of JJ and spent quite a bit of time in the peripheral materials, to include some work on the world map and sorting out some of the currencies of the different nations.

As always, while I haven’t had an abundance of story progress since the last post, I have been continually churning out new reviews. I already have built up enough to keep me in business for a while. The reason last week’s batch of reviews didn’t come out is because I got tripped up on the Azumanga-Daioh manga reviews. Really, the format for the comics/manga reviews strikes me as a bit of a liability compared to the simpler approach I take to movies and TV series. I may consider a reformat to simplify things. Anyway, hopefully there’ll be more progress to come. Stay tuned.

I have yet to truly get back into the swing of things. Since the previous post, I had done some more work in the peripheral materials and went to naming the chapters of EM and JJ (not as trivial a thing as you might think). However, it wasn’t until yesterday that I actually made some story progress, the first in over a month. I did some writing on Chapter 4 of JJ and worked on putting together the crew roster of the Junker Jorg‘s nemesis, the Junker Woland. Maybe this is the start of me moving forward again. Maybe.
