Thursday is my busiest day of the week with my current schedule, and with me having next to no energy by the time I get home lately, I didn’t accomplish much beyond adding a few items to the list, which I didn’t think was enough to warrant a post. My schedule was much more open today, but it was shocking how little I accomplish. For whatever reason, I was working on the map of Korush for CoP a while, then I did a little bit on Chapter 10 of RttW, but I got distracted detailing a relevant key item, then similar items (specifically, contracts and such). From there, I started thinking about the Trade Guilds. In the DnD scenario I was building for my niece a few years back, I drew up the guild structure for the setting, and I don’t intend to reinvent the wheel, but there are some bits that don’t fit the setting of RttW, so I need to account for that, but I didn’t get farther than reviewing the guild list for that setting (there are 108 guilds there with numerous subordinate companies) and thinking about how to work out the Trade Skills system. (I’ve already developed a simplified version for my alternative game system, so I have to decide if I want to go along those lines or do something a little different.) Of course, none of that gets me across the finish line, so we’re going to have to just move the cycle along and come back around next time. I intend to continue working over the weekend, but don’t expect the chapter to be finished just yet. Stay tuned.

As I was preparing the prologue of CoP for posting, I realized that there was a scene I had forgotten, so I had to get that written. Unlike some of my more recent stories, I actually have this one pretty well plotted out beforehand, but there are still some gaps I need to fill, and to help me with that, I started putting together the map of Korush. I haven’t labelled the countries yet, but I’ll be getting to that and I should be able to get those gaps filled once I have a clearer visualization of the journey our leads will be taking. For the time being, however, I need to be thinking of switching over to RttW. Stay tuned.

I finished the prologue of CoP, as there didn’t end up being much more I needed to write to make a decent enough conclusion. Double-checking the calendar work I did yesterday, I found some errors I had to correct, which proved to be quite a pain as a single error cascades down the whole daggone timeline. I then stared at the page mightily thinking about starting Chapter 1 before deciding to pack it in for the evening. I’ll try to make some actual progress tomorrow. Stay tuned.

I didn’t actually make any story progress. You see, I decided to age down a bunch of characters and I needed to adjust the timeline in the peripheral materials accordingly. Because I need to accurately follow certain dates, I started to build up the Korushi Calendar. For reference, on Korush, the world where the story takes place, the year is 354 days with three different cycles for calculating leap years as part of a larger 120-year cycle. This extra complication is baked in for astronomical purposes, but it’s a fine pain for me to sort through. I made calendars for about 20 years to get me started and made the assorted adjustments that needed to be made. Loads of fun, but perhaps not so interesting to the average audience member and certainly not something that gets the prologue done for Saturday. Well, there’s another day ahead and maybe I can still make it happen. Stay tuned.

I made a little more progress on the prologue of CoP, but not as much as I would’ve liked as I was having to work out some of the logistics and then once I got back to the ranchero, I ended up conking out for most of the evening. We’ll see if I can’t turn things around. Stay tuned.

I made some decent progress on the prologue of CoP. If I can keep up this momentum, I should have no trouble getting it ready for the weekend. If I can push on ahead and get a bit of a lead, that would be even better. Let’s see if we can get it done. Stay tuned.

I made a little progress on the prologue of CoP. Although it doesn’t look like I’ve been doing much, I have actually been doing a fair bit of research and some work in the peripheral materials to build things up first. I might’ve gotten more done, but there’s been the update of the site and plenty on my plate at the day job, so that’s been taking the greater part of my time. Hopefully things will settle down by the next cycle so I can move things along. Stay tuned.

I did a little tweaking to Chapter 7 of RttW but not much writing yet, though I only have to finish one scene to get it ready to go. I also fiddled around a bit with Child of Promise, which I’ve decided is going to be what takes EM3’s slot. More to come. Stay tuned.

Inspiration took me in an unexpected direction and I did some writing on the Cross Arc story Child of Promise. Also did a little bit of dialog for The Boy King’s Madness. Where will the whimsy of my muse take me next? Stay tuned.
