WIP Update – 18 Apr 17
I’m continuing to make headway in Chapter 23 of CeleKing1. I think another day and it should be finished. Stay tuned.
I’m continuing to make headway in Chapter 23 of CeleKing1. I think another day and it should be finished. Stay tuned.
Now, anyone familiar with my usual patterns can be forgiven for not expecting an update here. Yes, I’m playing Breath of the Wild now and, yes, I’m spending a lot of time with it, even during the off-hours at work thanks to the Switch’s handheld capabilities. I don’t go so far as to bring the AC adapter with me, so there is an upper limit to how long I can play, which is both fortuitous and partially by design. As such, I’ve managed to more than make the day’s quota on Chapter 23 of CeleKing1. Taking the time to transcribe what I’ve written in my notebook is another story, though. Eventually my hands will give out from playing and that’ll be something to do while I recover. There’s a lot I can say about BotW, but I figure I’ll save most of it for my review, probably coming in about a month from now. Meanwhile, more story progress to come. Stay tuned.
I was able to finish Chapter 22 of CeleKing1, which means I’m just three chapters away from finishing the book. That should be quite manageable next cycle. It would be even more so if I didn’t learn today that my new workplace bans outside devices (and won’t be providing me with an internal machine to use). It’s probably going to wreck my hands, but I see myself resorting to good old-fashioned pen and paper. I’ll have to get the paper, though. ^_^; Well, it’s TSoA1’s turn to get some love. Stay tuned.
I managed to make the day’s quota on Chapter 22 of CeleKing1, but after doing a whole week’s worth of progress in a day, it doesn’t seem like much of an accomplishment. I did spend a fair bit of time doling out fiefs on Erdi to account for the Wo (Japanese) population in the Celestial aristocracy. I’d already done the Man (assorted non-Asian) nobles and I need to spend some time allotting the rest of the Zhao (Korean) spots. Altogether, the non-Chinese population among the nobility accounts for less than a third of the total. Of course, there’s been a lot of intermarriage and the original stock wasn’t necessarily “pure” to begin with, but the Celestials’ racial hierarchy is based more on appearances than anything else.
I should be able to finish Chapter 22 at least before switching over, which means that I should wrap things up next cycle. It’s a good thing the end of the serial run isn’t until a good ways off because I still have a lot of counties to name before I can put up the maps. (I only have 38 of the 223 counties named as of yet.) Fun for later. Well, let’s see if I can get that last push to finish Chapter 22 and then we can start thinking about making some actual progress in TSoA1. Stay tuned.
I not only made it through Chapter 21 of CeleKing1 but also got a good ways into Chapter 22 as well. At this rate, I may well get to Chapter 23 before the weekend’s out and finishing the book next cycle is entirely probable. Amazing what having absolutely nothing else to do means for progress. (Don’t tell anybody, but so long as my student load is on the light side, I expect to be using a fair bit of my downtime at work to make headway on my stories as well.) I’m going to need to spend some time completing the map of Erdi. I’ve only named a handful of the 223 counties. Things to do, things to do. Stay tuned.
I managed to finish up Chapter 20 of CeleKing1 and with the abundance of free time I have leading up to Monday, I stand a very good chance of finishing Chapter 21 as well, maybe even Chapter 22. We’ll see how far I can get. Stay tuned.
Now that things have settled down, I have plenty of time to write and managed to do double quota working on Chapter 20 of CeleKing1. Work starts next week, but I should still have plenty of time to write, so things are looking good on the progress front. I’m hoping to settle into the new schedule and have things run smoothly. We’ll see, though. Stay tuned.
I managed to write a little above par on Chapter 20 of CeleKing1, narrowing the overall gap. I should be able to finish this chapter (though I still don’t quite know how long it’ll turn out being) and hopefully make some decent headway into Chapter 21 before the week’s out. Stay tuned.
It’s under quota, but I did make some progress on Chapter 20 of CeleKing1. I’m just about done running errands for the week, which should translate to more time for writing. I tell ya, getting my cell phone reactivated has proven to be an enormous pain. (In retrospect, I should’ve asked to keep the SIM card they had at the Tokyo-eki Soft Bank and then just had them finish the proceedings at one of the locations here.) Well, hopefully I can get my running around knocked out early and spend a nice leisurely afternoon writing. Stay tuned.
Amid all the craziness of getting adjusted to life in Japan again, going through my preliminary training, moving into my new place, and crashing out pretty much whenever I’m not on the clock, I somehow managed to make some more progress on Chapter 20 of CeleKing1. As my translation project will be ending as of Monday morning, I think I’m going to give CeleKing1 an extra week before switching over. Unless I’m called up to do some sub work, next week may well prove to be pretty chill. If I’m not working, I do intend to do a fair bit of exploring in my new area, about as much as my legs can handle. I’ve already got the basics covered, but I’d like to cast the net a little wider. I’d also like avoid too many more expenses until my first paycheck comes in, so I may well find myself spending a fair bit of time here in the apartment writing. We’ll see what happens. Stay tuned.
