Monday I was mostly busy with the review update, much as I’d be on a normal Sunday. Tuesday I still had that one as of yet untitled story on the mind. I’d brainstormed a few scenes, but I didn’t get much written due to a fuzzy someone’s interference. I managed to switch gears to RttW on Wednesday and write a bit on what should go in Chapter 9 or 10. I was also doing some peripheral work to flesh out some more of the game system.

Besides this, I was continuing my work going through EM2 and digging into EM3 as well. I won’t say there’s a massive amount of errors to be had but definitely more than enough for me to be glad I caught them. Periods where I was having to do things like transcribe handwritten work or use my tablet to write warrant a decent share of the blame for a lot of the typos, but since I’m my only editor, sometimes it takes time for me to come back to a manuscript with a fresh set of eyes to catch things I overlooked in the initial passes. Anyway, that’s enough for now. Work is keeping me hopping at the moment, but I have time opening up in other places that should mean good things for me making progress. Stay tuned.

So I didn’t get anything done Saturday after having pulled a half day of work and then sleeping through most of the rest of it after I got back home. Rather than focusing on the review update or actually writing on EM3 where it matters, that little random short I was working on started expanding in my head, linking to other bits and pieces I’ve been thinking about. Besides writing out scenes, I was already digging into genealogies and the history of the setting. This will almost certainly get turned into something later. I just have to decide if I want to integrate it into one of my existing series or let it be its own thing.

It all started with me playing KageMasu, looking at Iris’ civvie costume and imagining snarky banter between her and Cid (more in line with the way he interacts with Alexia, so definitely out of character for both of them as far as Kagejitsu canon is concerned). The character that started to form from this Cid stand-in got me thinking of a reimagining I had of the confrontation between Wendelin and Kurt in 8Nan. The inspiration is clear for anyone who knows what they’re looking for, but of course it’s turning into its own thing and the more I develop it, the less obvious the roots will be. Yes, this energy would be better directed toward the stories currently in serialization, but you know how the artistic temperament can be. When inspiration strikes, you have to follow where it leads.

I imagine I’ll be playing around with this story more, but I do intend to switch over to RttW and maybe also try to finish Chapter 23 of EM3 while I’m at it. Stay tuned.

I only did a little writing on Chapter 23 of EM3, but I did spend a fair bit of time sorting out the corrections I’ve been making to EM1 and EM2 and also writing on a little short that came to me in a moment of inspiration and may be developed into something at a later date. We’ll see how things go. Stay tuned.

I made some progress on Chapter 23 of EM3, but work is starting to pick up again, so that means less writing time. We’ll see what more I can get done. Stay tuned.

I continued my progress on Chapter 23 of EM3. Much as I was going over the CeleKing series last week, I’m going over EM1 now to find stuff that’s slipped past my radar and I’ll be going through EM2 as well. More to come. Stay tuned.

I didn’t get any writing done Monday, but then I had a dream that I wanted out of my head, so it needed to go onto the page. I then proceeded to write this 3200-word piece that would’ve been great if it was actually relevant story progress. It might end up finding its way in some other story in the future, but it doesn’t help with the main objective for the week. As far as that goes, I only made about a paragraph’s worth of progress on Chapter 23 of EM3. I’ve had to do some research on squash. It’ll make sense when you read the chapter in six weeks. We’ll try to pick up the pace in the coming days. Stay tuned.

I put the finishing touches on Chapter 18 of TWH and spent most of my day correcting those errors in the CeleKing series. Loads of fun. I’d like to write more on TWH, but I need to be switching gears to EM3. Stay tuned.

Two days with a good bit of time on my hands proved to be enough to mostly finish Chapter 18 of TWH. Not only that, but I was going over CeleKing1, 2 and 3 to catch typos. It started with me just rereading random chapters and just happening the occasional error, but I went on to do a more methodical scan through the three novels to catch things that had slipped by me in the past. Afterward, I’d have to make those corrections to the original manuscript, the offline HTML file and of course the chapters on the website. Loads of fun.

Anyway, I might try doing a little more on TWH before switching over. Stay tuned.

I didn’t have much to do at work on Tuesday, so that meant plenty of time to write. However, yesterday my schedule was fairly packed, so while I did make a little progress on Chapter 18 of TWH, it wasn’t much. I’m continuing on my way toward the end. Stay tuned.
