Still inching along in Chapter 3 of Tico4. That’s it, really. Stay tuned for more.
Still inching along in Chapter 3 of Tico4. That’s it, really. Stay tuned for more.
I’ve pretty well finished Chapter 1 and am making headway into Chapter 3 of Tico4. I need to go back and fill in just a little bit of the prologue bridging two scenes, then it’s full steam ahead from there. Chapter 4 is going to be a nightmare to write, but I’ve got an idea of how to go forward and hopefully it’ll pan out. Stay tuned.
I made some progress on Chapters 1 and 2 of Tico4. And that’s really all there is to say at present. Stay tuned for more.
Even though I probably should’ve been devoting more time to other things, I was neck-deep in research and made some good progress on Chapter 3 of Tico4. (“What about Chapter 2?” you ask? Well, I did write a couple lines there, but that chapter doesn’t require extra research on my part.) Once said chapter comes out, I’ll relate the nature of this research in a commentary post, but for now, I want to avoid spoilers. If all goes well, I should be done through Chapter 3 by the end of the week, maybe even through Chapter 4. That’ll give me even more wiggle room when it comes to the Space Arc rotation, but on the other side of things, I’ll need to push through the latter chapters of Gamaliel’s section of TTWC1. That can be a challenge for next week. (As you’ve probably noticed from last week’s posts, I’ve been putting more time into TTWC2 than trying to fight with the more difficult characters of Gamaliel and Xenomachos.) Expect me to stay relatively focused on Tico4 throughout the week, though I may occasionally slip into some of the shorts as well. Stay tuned.
I made some progress on the prologue and Chapter 1 of Tico4 and did a little more writing on some of those Space Arc shorts. I’ve got a fair bit of research ahead of me in preparation for the first major plot arc of the story. Nothing like poring over pages and pages of government docs to lend verisimilitude to the story. Stay tuned.
I did a little more writing on TTWC2 and did some work on a few of the Space Arc shorts in development. I think I’m about ready to hop over and start doing some work on Tico4 for a while. However, I have other priorities that come first, so I can’t make any promises of much progress in the immediate future. We’ll see how it goes, though. Stay tuned.
I did a fair bit of assorted writing in TTWC2, mostly retooling chapters from the previous draft. I also did some work in the peripheral materials, focused around Tellus in particular. (I should probably add a subtitle to that story so there’s no confusion between it and the larger Tellus Arc.) I was formalizing some of the genealogical work and may continue it farther. Anyway, progress was made. Not too sure I’ll have much time to go farther over the weekend, but we’ll see. Stay tuned.
Usually I don’t have the time to get any writing done on days I update the site, but I did add a little bit here and there in TTWC1. There wasn’t much of a concerted effort, so I’m not going to list all the chapters I added one or two lines to.
In other news, I sent off a fresh query for KoG1, the first one in a long time. I’d generally given up on querying, but the agent in question has just went independent, so I figured now was a good time to make a shot. If KoG1 doesn’t quite grab her but she does show interest in my writing, I may try again with Tico1. I know I had one query a while back where the agent liked my writing but KoG1 didn’t quite do it for her. This and other feedback from agents I’ve gotten pretty well confirms that I have a good handle on my craft, but the real trick is finding the agent who can connect with the material and passionately promote it to publishers. Yes, I know I’ve said that publication isn’t that big of a deal for me, but there’s not an author out there who doesn’t want to see their work on bookshelves. Will anything come of this latest attempt? I’m not holding my breath, but I should know in six weeks’ time. Stay tuned.I did a little work on Corona’s Chapter 3 of TTWC1. I should probably work on chapters closer in the queue, but given how much lead time I have, I can afford to work on whatever chapter I choose for a while. Though the serialization of TTWC1 will continue throughout the year, I’m hoping to have all the writing done before the end of summer. We’ll see if I can meet my goal. Stay tuned.
I did a little work on both TTWC1 and TTWC2. Most of my effort was conceptual, fine-tuning the timeline for events surrounding the first and second occupation of Karas. I had to stand during the return shuttle ride, so that was some writing time I missed out on. Hopefully more progress will follow. Stay tuned.
