Cat's Eye (1985)

Cat's Eye (1985)

Director: Lewis Teague
Starring: Drew Barrymore, James Woods, Alan King

Synopsis:
Three tales of terror as witnessed by a wandering tabby cat.

Impressions:
Much like the Twilight Zone movie, this is a movie consisting of separate vignettes, but here they're tied together by the cat who emerges as the hero of the third story. The stories actually play out a bit like Twilight Zone eps filtered through a Stephen King lens. "Quitters, Inc." is perhaps my favorite and I can only imagine that King was sublimating his own smoking cessation experience there. James Woods was perfectly cast in the role. Kenneth McMillan as the villain in "The Ledge" was also rather entertaining. The true star, of course, is the cat, the hero Gotham needs. It's a fun movie with light horror and some good suspense. Give it a watch.
