After the Thin Man (1936)

After the Thin Man (1936)

Director: WS Van Dyke
Starring: William Powell, Myrna Loy, James Stewart

Synopsis:
Nick and Nora move back to San Francisco, where Nora's cousin is implicated in the murder of her philandering husband.

Impressions:
The adventures of Nick and Nora Charles continue in this solid sequel. While not quite as good as the first film, it's still a respectable follow-up with William Powell and Myrna Loy's chemistry as strong as ever. There's a fairly interesting pileup of suspects in the central murder case and while you can probably read some of the twists, there's bound to still be a surprise or two for you. Jimmy Stewart is pretty good in this, particularly in the third act. It's definitely worth giving a watch.
