Attack on Titan - Volume 30 (2019)

Author/Artist: Hajime Isayama
Publisher: KC Magazine

Synopsis:
The Marleyan Titans throw themselves into preventing Eren and Zeke from making contact.

Story/Characters:
My investment in the series has seriously waned ever since Volume 22, to the point where I wished the series ended when our gang made it to the sea. However, we're reaching the endgame and there are some twists and turns that I actually appreciated. We get an interesting view into how the past memory works and we get to see the backstory of the original Ymir, which is neat. We get a reveal from Eren that may not quite save his character, but it does have me interested in seeing what comes next.

Art:
We get a fair bit of action so we're not just looking at wonky faces. There is some neat design work with the panels to represent the fragmented nature of the flood of memories. The Ymir backstory has a different look to it which adds some visual interest.

Other:
The high school AU takes an interesting turn. I'm curious to see where it goes next.

Conclusion:
It feels like we're bouncing back a bit this volume. There are some good reveals and I'm actually interested in the direction Isayama is taking Eren's character, so we'll see how things go. Give this one a read.
