Impressions:
I didn't know who Alejandro Jodorowsky was prior to this documentary and after seeing it, I'm not likely to forget. I'm a big fan of the Dune series, so it was very interesting to see this chronicle of the first effort to bring the first book to the silver screen. Jodorowsky is crazy. Absolutely nuts but absolutely fascinating as well. His ideas were really out there, but the sheer ambition of the project is awe-inspiring. It's amazing how far he got too. I mean, if his vision had been realized, it really would be Jodorowsky's Dune as his ideas became rather far removed from the source material, but it would've been a true landmark if it had come to pass. Even with the project's collapse, it managed to seed a wide range of science fiction and the effects are still felt today, even if it takes some legwork to trace it back to the origin. Whether you're a fan of Jodorowsky, of Dune or science fiction in general, this is well worth watching. I highly recommend it.
