"G" Men (1935)

"G" Men (1935)

Director: William Keighley
Starring: James Cagney, Margaret Lindsay, Ann Dvorak

Synopsis:
A struggling lawyer with ties to the underworld joins the FBI as the Justice Department declares war on gang violence.

Impressions:
While this feels a bit like a propaganda film for the newly empowered Bureau, it's not a bad flick about a guy from the wrong side of the tracks trying to play straight. James Cagney is pretty good as the lead character. The plot isn't exceptional, but it's definitely watchable and if you like 30s-era crime movies, this isn't a bad watch.
