I Parry Everything: What Do You Mean I'm the Strongest? I'm Not Even an Adventurer Yet! (2024)

Director: Dai Fukuyama
Studio: OLM
Starring: Daiki Hamano, Ryoko Maekawa, Nanako Mori
Episodes: 12

Synopsis:
A common laborer who failed to achieve his dream of becoming an adventurer has trained his parrying skills to superhuman levels.

Impressions:
This is yet another entry in the well-worn formula of main characters who are oblivious to how strong they really are. Now, it's somewhat interesting how Noor applies mostly low-level abilities on a ridiculous scale. I've praised The Man Who Knew Too Little-style stories before, but for some reason, Noor's obtuseness just didn't work for me. I saw some back-and-forth between viewers of this show and of The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, which share some superficial similarities at first, but while that show's MC eventually realizes his own strength, Noor remains clueless throughout and if that doesn't sound like your idea of a good time, you may well find this show more frustrating than anything. I did like the supporting cast fairly well and the production values are solid, but the gimmick didn't stick for me, and I have a feeling it won't stick for a lot of other people either, so the best I can do is say take it or leave it.
