The Valley of Gwangi (1969)
Director: Jim O'Connolly
Starring: James Franciscus, Gila Golan, Richard Carlson
Synopsis:
A promoter learns about an old flame's new gimmick, which leads him to a hidden valley where prehistoric creatures still walk the earth.
Impressions:
I'll be honest with you. I wasn't particularly drawn in by the story or the characters. The real reason to watch this is Ray Harryhausen's effects. If the idea of cowboys trying to rope a Tyrannosaurus (or Allosaurus or whatever) sounds appealing to you, then it's reason enough to give it a watch. As a total package, though, there's not much to latch on to besides the special effects.
