The Beast with a Million Eyes (1955)
Director: David Kramarsky
Starring: Paul Birch, Lorna Thayer, Dona Cole
Synopsis:
An extraterrestrial invader preys on the minds of a family in the California desert.
Impressions:
This isn't a very good movie, but the concept is really cool. The idea of an alien invader that operates by influencing critters and certain humans (giving it the eponymous million eyes) is awesome. I realize I'm basically describing Giygas from Earthbound/Mother 2. Play that if you want to see the concept done entertainingly. Though it was largely for budgetary reasons, not showing the creature is effective at building suspense. This may not be enough to convince you to give it a try and I can't blame you, but if you like these cheap 50s scifi films, you may want to give it a shot.
