Impressions:
I know I'd written off this series after the fourth season, but I recently found myself going down the rabbit hole of G123 shovelware and started playing the StB game, which manage to spark my curiosity. Seeing as how this was only four episodes and already completed so I wouldn't have to wait for months between entries, I decided to give it a go and tie a bow on the saga. Well, it didn't take long for them to remind me of everything I hate about the series and why I dropped it in the first place. If this season had been any longer, I might not have stuck through it. You've got a jumbled plot with too many characters running around, most of them mere ciphers who are nothing more than a couple quirks and catchphrases, a lead who talks big but doesn't amount to much and a main heroine who's incredibly annoying. (No wonder Kojou ends up with twelve wives. He needs the other eleven to offset Himeragi.) The Ren Siblings are rather lame for the final bosses of the series, with Shahryar matching Kojou for being more bark than bite (but at least he doesn't have Ladli jump in to steal his thunder with a "No, Oniisama, this is our fight," but you can bet your boots Himeragi has to jump in with her line one last time). The only good thing I can say about this is that it's over. I think even the most diehard StB fans who have been undeterred all this time will walk away disappointed. For everyone else, there's no real reason to see this. Pass on it.
