The Quintessential Quintuplets (2018)
[五等分の花嫁]
Volume 6
Author/Artist: Negi Haruba
Publisher: Shounen Magazine Comics
Synopsis:
Fuutarou is reunited with the girl he met in Kyoto five years ago.
Story/Characters:
The meeting with "Rena" at the start raises more questions than it answers, but it'll become clear later. We then get some excellent character building with Nino and go on to dealing with Yotsuba's involvement with the track team, which then leads us to the resolution of the Nino/Itsuki feud. From there, we move to the next big arc as we shake things up again. I really have to emphasize how good the development with Nino is. I really wasn't on board with her at first, but she's been steadily growing on me and this volume represents a big jump in that progression.
Art:
The art continues to shine. If you like the sight of blushing Nino, you're in for a smorgasbord. Also, it seems like Ichika is wanting to reenact the toothbrush scene from Nisemonogatari with Yotsuba. So there's that.
Other:
We get two one-page comics, one comparing the quints' physical performance and the other calculating their collective bustline.
Conclusion:
There's great character development to be had this volume and I really like how they work through Nino and Itsuki's spat. We close on a major shakeup, which should leave you eager to see what comes next. It's definitely worth adding to your collection.
