Impressions:
I remember liking the first season of SAO and thinking the second season was at least more good than bad, but I guess Kirito's Marty Stu antics have worn out their welcome. I mean, there's no challenge. A tree that people have been trying to chop down for 300 years? Not to worry. Give Kirito about a week. At least he takes damage, even if there's never much doubt in the outcome of any given match. Blond KiritoEugeo actually has to work a bit, has an arc, etc. If Kirito wasn't around as a crutch, Eugeo's story could have stood on its own, but alas, it was not to be. I didn't hate this as much as Season 2 of Log Horizon, but it still felt like a chore to get through to the end. If you're a die-hard SAO fan, you may not have a problem, but if you're more on the fence, you can take it or leave it. And if you hate SAO, well, you're probably just going to say this vindicates you. Although I'm mildly curious about the continuation of the story, I don't know if I can sit through another season. We'll see.
