Synopsis:
A man reincarnated as a magical sword frees a slave girl and becomes her teacher.
Impressions:
I came into this with very low expectations, figuring we're scraping close to the bottom of the isekai barrel by this point, but this is honestly one of the best isekai I've seen in a while. Rather than serving as a vehicle for a shallow power fantasy, the main character serves to empower another and assist her in her growth. A wonderful father-daughter dynamic develops between Teacher and Fran. Fran is absolutely adorable and it's a delight to see how Teacher dotes on her. The game system of the world has a fair bit of depth to it, quite similar to that of TenSura. While most challenges come easily thanks to Teacher's power, there are moments where we get a proper challenge to keep things interesting. If the sequel hook at the end does in fact mean a second season is in the offing, I'll definitely be there for it. I highly recommend giving it a watch, even a place in your collection.
