Synopsis:
The adventures of the Gourmet Guild continue while the ultimate confrontation with the usurper Kaiser Insight draws nearer.

Impressions:
I was quite impressed with what the first season brought to the table, a thoroughly enjoyable experience that took a game I loved and blended it with the comic sensibilities that serves director Takaomi Kanasaki so well with the Konosuba series. We get more of what made the first season great with some quite stunning set pieces with lavish animation you'd never expect from a game adaptation. We establish early on that this is a distinct timeline from the game, which allows for more flexibility without undermining the source material. We see several of the in-game events serving as inspiration for a few of the episodes and the show continues to do a fair job of giving the rather large cast some time in the spotlight without getting bogged down too much. The last stretch of the season takes more of a dramatic turn, but the drama is handled as ably as the comedy, making for a total package that should satisfy most viewers and not just fans of the game. This is just every bit as much worth having as the previous season, so consider that my stamp of approval.
