Impressions:
I'm going to have to spoil a little because I can't really talk about the series without bringing out the first twist. I went into this blind, so I really wasn't feeling it at first as this seemed like a bog-standard romcom, but then the switch gets flipped and I saw that the whole point was to brutally deconstruct the subgenre and most of its tropes. Everyone is terrible and things go badly for them because they're terrible. If you're on board with the the joke, it can be quite a bit of fun. It gets a bit weak when it plays things straight, particularly in the third of the four arcs, but fortunately it's more of a detour, unlike too many romcoms that switch to drama midstream and never recover. If you're the kind of person who wants to believe in the goodness of your fellow human beings, this is going to hurt, but if you have the somewhat warped sense of humor and are looking for a remedy to the average cookie-cutter romcom, this may be just the thing. Give it a watch.
