Let Us Prey (2014)
Director: Brian O'Malley
Starring: Liam Cunningham, Pollyanna McIntosh, Bryan Larkin
Synopsis:
The dark secrets of a small Irish town come to light when a mysterious drifter appears.
Impressions:
My primary motivation for watching this was when I discovered it was marketed in Japan as Death Note. Yes, there's a notebook where bad things happen to anyone whose name gets written in it, but it's not really a foreign adaptation of the series, in case you were wondering. Now, the degree to which this little town is profoundly screwed up borders on the comical, but this is a decent horror film where things go from bad to worse to downright insane. Game of Thrones fans will be interested that Liam Cunningham plays the drifter. I wasn't entirely happy with how it ended, but it was nevertheless a good if mildly disturbing ride. Give it a watch.
