Impressions:
"Recovery One" demonstrated Burnie Burns' chops for dramatic writing and now we inject that into the usual RvB hijinx. This sets up Agent Washington as the straight man to all the insanity we've gotten used to over the past five seasons. This arc of the story, The Recollection, completely recontextualizes everything we think we know about the story and, frankly, it's brilliant. Also, setting up the Meta as a no-nonsense villain makes for an interestingly jarring experience. There are some big reveals to be had and the wham line at the end of the season has perhaps the most punch of the entire series. If you strongly prefer the old-style silliness or really want more of the dramatic storytelling in the vein of "Recovery One", you may not be so happy about the blend of the two, but this is the direction the series takes. If that's a problem for you, your enjoyment may be hampered, but I don't mind in the slightest and highly recommend it.
