Death Hunt (1981)

Death Hunt (1981)

Director: Peter R Hunt
Starring: Charles Bronson, Lee Marvin, Andrew Stevens

Synopsis:
The Mounties launch a manhunt for a trapper accused of murder.

Impressions:
I wanted to see this because it was a Charles Bronson film with "death" in the title, so I figured I'd get to see him killing some dudes. That was indeed what I got, but I didn't expect this to be loosely based on a true story. When I say "loosely based", I mean it and not just from the typical Hollywood embellishments to the "true stories" they put out. Charles Bronson's character is given a much more favorable portrayal than the real-life account, but setting the historicity aside, it's a fairly entertaining fugitive movie. Besides Bronson, you've also got Lee Marvin and Carl Weathers among the Mounties after him. It's not an outstanding film, but I liked it well enough. If you like the sound of a fugitive film in the frozen North, give this one a watch.
