Dead of Night (1945)
Director: Alberto Cavalcanti, Charles Crichton, Basil Dearden, Robert Hamer
Starring: Mervyn Johns, Michael Redgrave, Roland Culver
Synopsis:
An architect visiting a farmhouse claims he has seen everything before in a dream, prompting the guests to recount their own tales of the supernatural.
Impressions:
This is a neat little film that reminds me of Twilight Zone: The Movie with its little vignettes strung together by a frame story. This allows for a nice variety of stories. "The Ventriloquist's Dummy" segment was my favorite, but they're all good and even if you're not that big of a fan of any one particular story, there's pretty quick turnover. It's some good light viewing and worth a watch.
