Below (2002)
Director: David Twohy
Starring: Matthew Davis, Bruce Greenwood, Holt McCallany
Synopsis:
An American submarine is ordered to pick up the survivors of a sunk hospital ship. Strange things start to occur which seem to be tied to some secret of the sub crew's past.
Impressions:
WWII submarine horror story. It may seem unfair to be so reductive, but this is at best a so-so movie, so I don't feel any obligation to give it any more credit than it deserves. The story is decent enough, with some fairly interesting twists. The CG is few steps above TV level. I've been a Bruce Greenwood fan ever since Nowhere Man, so there's that. Like I said, it's okay but nothing great. If the premise sounds interesting to you, you may find it worth your time.
