Akasame - An exiled warlord from the distant land of Hijima, he and his company join the Alliance to get their fill of blood and plunder.
Aristides - The commander of the Zephyrian First Legion, he is a friend and confidant to King Solon.
Arsinoe - A former courtesan and dancer acting as the third-in-command in Simona's troupe of entertainers.
Baderic - One of Rowland's lieutenants.
Belgius - An agent of Rowland posing as a killer for hire.
Bernicos - A member of the Notian Senate and an heir to the old Notian nobility.
Blackstone - A notorious pirate who aids the Alliance but is not all that he appears.
Borinn - A lieutenant of Garm's.
Carolus - Rowland's father and the founder of the Promethean Alliance.
Carpos - The son of King Solon VI, he has joined the Alliance to put an end to the Darklands campaign before it ruins his inheritance.
Chilpericus - A member of the Notian Senate elected after the founding of the Republic.
Clodomer - One of Rowland's lieutenants.
Crescens - An optio of one of the Third Legion's centuries of battlemages.
Daidalos - The decurio of the Royal Equestrians in Prince Carpos' honor guard.
Damianos - A mage of the Royal Mages' Circle sent to Notos to conscript people with magical ability.
Daphne - The daughter of King Solon and Queen Xanthe, she acts as regent in her parents' absence.
Dari - A lieutenant of Garm's, brother of Thari.
Demas - A battlemage in the Third Legion.
Dionicos - An heir to the old Notian nobility in the Notian Senate and a supporter of the Alliance.
Dinostratos - A mage of the Royal Mages' Circle in Carpos' honor guard.
Drutos - The captain of the mercenary band the Dogs of Vosegus.

Eustathios - The tribune commanding the cohort of the Third Legion garrisoned at Maximilion.
Eustratos - A senator from Hebertos who acts as Carpos' host.
Futagawa no Oshio - A retainer of Akasame's who joined him in exile.
Garm - The leader of the Dwerkhar exiles forcibly settled in Notos after the Nanoi Campaigns, he seeks to use the Alliance to get his people back to their homes in Zephyr.
Gielguld - A Dwerkh of Arkh Sharshun who commands Garm's engineers
Golfi - A lieutenant of Garm's.
Gorn - A Dwerkh of Arkh Sharshun sworn to the service of Garm.
Hermericus - A consul of the Senate of Notos after the expulsion of the Zephyrians.
Hilarion - The tribune commanding the cohort of the Third Legion garrisoned at Girondin.
Iacquo - The second-in-command of Simona's troupe of entertainers.

Ionathas - A Notian free knight trained in Zephyr who leads a band of freelances called the Hawks of Maranthe.
Ioannis - A throne room guard in Castle Notos who remains loyal to Duke Cronos.

Kyrillos - A throne room guard in Castle Notos who sides with Carpos.
Lysimachos - A mage of the Royal Mages' Circle sent to Notos to conscript people with magical ability.
Nathanael - One of the sons of Iessai of Maranthe, the only one not to join the Hawks of Maranthe, who instead sided with the Alliance.
Mab - The elder Queen of Faeries, she was banished to the Surface World after displeasing her husband and has been bound to serve the Alliance due to a trap laid by Rowland.
Makkaros - One of Rowland's lieutenants.
Malchos - The garrison prefect at Hebertos.
Marah Sidhe - A Trolwif in Urgill's war-band.
Nathanael - One of the sons of Iessai of Maranthe who chose to ally with the Alliance
Oberon - The reclusive King of Faeries, he is quick to anger and just as quick to banish any who offend him.
Onesimos - The prefect of the garrison at Iakobin.
Orgnud - An Org warrior in Urgill's war-band familiar with the voyage to Notos.
Orgruk - An Org warrior in Urgill's war-band who leads a mutiny against her.
Orgun - The son and heir of King Orguz III and father of Urgill, he seeks to bring an end to the Monarch Lich's rule.
Patrocles - Prince Carpos' friend, personal bodyguard and the prefect of his honor guard.
Philemon - A powerful shipping magnate and member of the Notian Senate who helped fund the Alliance.
Raddai - One of the sons of Iessai of Maranthe, a Hawk of Maranthe until he parted ways with Ionathas and returned to free Maranthe from the Alliance.
Ricchar - A lieutenant in the Promethean Alliance who took over leadership after Carolus' arrest.
Rowland - An heir to the line of the last Knight Champion of Notos, he seizes control of the Alliance to wrest his homeland from Zephyr's hands once and for all.
Sappheiros - The centurion of the Royal Equestrians of Carpos' honor guard and the honor guard's third-in-command.
Satomi no Iwayumi - A retainer of Akasame's who joined him in exile.
Scipio - A powerful archmage from the ascetic community in the Montan Tower, he pledges himself to the Alliance to prevent it from straying.
Shinara - The Xotikan name of Simona.
Simona - A Black Xotika who participated in the Darklander invasion of Notos, she was saved by Rowland's ancestor and pledged the rest of her life to serving his descendants.
Thari - A lieutenant of Garm's, brother of Dari.
Theudas - A member of the Notian Senate who supported the Alliance.
Theuderic - A former lieutenant in the Promethean Alliance who became the Lord Captain of the Paladins of the Republic.
Titania - The younger Queen of Faeries, she is much resented by Mab.
Urggit - A maid-thrall in Urgill's service.
Urgill - The daughter of King Orguz III, she has travelled to Notos and joined the Alliance to get their aid freeing her people from the rule of the Monarch Lich.
