Impressions:
The title was enough to draw my curiosity, but I didn't include this in my viewing lineup right away. Still, I feel that it was a worthwhile decision adding it to the list. If you like supernatural mystery stories, then this should satisfy. The cases build on each other, which is an approach that does a good job of balancing an overarching plotline and episodic storytelling. The way the cases tend to blend different traditions and give them a modern twist is interesting. On the character side, I liked the back-and-forth between Sumireko and Ren in particular, but the supporting cast is also pretty good as well. Now, you may have heard buzz around the lewd content of this series. There is an ecchi factor, but it's toned down a bit from the manga (which, from what I've sampled, isn't all that extreme). Sumireko's hypermastia aside, probably the lewdest thing about the series is Yoasobi's very breathy singing of the OP. Make of that what you will. Anyway, as far as the core package is concerned, I found it to be a pretty good watch, so if the premise appeals to you, you should check it out, too.
