Oshi no Ko - Season 2 (2024)

Director: Daisuke Hiramaki
Studio: Doga Kobo
Starring: Takeo Otsuka, Yurie Igoma, Megumi Han
Episodes: 13

Synopsis:
Aqua, Kana and Akane are cast in a 2.5D theatrical production of a popular manga series.

Impressions:
This season primarily focuses on the Tokyo Blade arc of the story. There's some interesting stuff going on the production side, especially the spat between the scriptwriter and the original author and the further exploration into the craft of acting. Honestly, the story of Tokyo Blade itself is pretty neat and I love how the stage production is brought to life. We get some good character development for Aqua, Akane and Kana, but Ruby is mostly sidelined until the end of the season, but the twist there leading us into the next arc makes it all worth it. Doga Kobo delivers the goods without the slightest hiccup, building off the already excellent first season, which should give us good reason to have high hopes for Season 3 as well. This is excellent stuff and well worth a place in your collection.
