Synopsis:
Things become complicated when a mysterious child appears claiming to be the daughter of Maou and Emilia.

Impressions:
I have to say that I'm impressed. Watching this season, I found myself unable to remember why I even liked the previous one. Seriously, I feel I need to rewatch Season 1 to confirm that I did, in fact, like it. If you can't tell, I didn't enjoy myself here, continuing only out of obligation to finish it for review purposes. Maybe it's because the novelty is gone, maybe it's because we don't really accomplish much of importance despite some apparently very big stuff is going down, but watching this show was sheer drudgery. It surely doesn't help that production values have taken a step down under a new studio, but I can excuse lower production values if the writing is compelling and it isn't here. Some people like the addition of Alas Ramus, but she's obvious cute bait to prop up the Maou-Emi ship and I simply couldn't care less. The fact that Gabriel is so laidback is mildly interesting, but as he's in no hurry to deal with the fragments of Yesod, I can't say I feel much pressure with the stakes. If you can find any enjoyment, more power to you. For me, however, there's really nothing to recommend here. Pass on it.
