Impressions:
When I was watching Zombie Land Saga, I'd hear people say that Kotaro reminded them of Okabe from this series. Well, with Mamoru Miyano gloriously hamming it up, I have to admit I was curious. If you like Miyano being hammy, then you'll get your fix, but there's so much more to this series than that. In the movie Conspiracy Theory, I thought it was clever to have a loony conspiracy theorist be the pawn in an actual conspiracy. Similarly, we take odd duck Okabe with his chuunibyou delusions and have a scenario that at least in part justifies them. Tying in the real-life John Titor sensation was also a nice touch. The series has an interesting approach to time travel (or should I say "approaches"?) and a cast of characters that play well with each other, such as the spacey, childlike Mayuri and the not-so-above-it-all tsundere Kurisu. The comedy is effective and the drama even more so. I was quite pleased with my experience and absolutely recommend giving it a watch at the very least if not add it to your collection.
