Impressions:
I overlooked this series when it originally aired, but after coming across the OP, I was intrigued and decided to check it out. The idea of a genre-blending story alone was interesting, but add the core concept of the relationship between fictional characters and their creators (as well as their audience) and I was pretty well hooked. I like stories that take an insider's view of the creative industry and weaving it into a fantastical plot provides plenty of opportunities for good meta-commentary. I particularly enjoyed how the creations dealt with their genres clashing, such as the magical girl Mamika being traumatized when she discovers blood, pain and the real destruction that comes with fighting. The cast is quite rich and their interactions are a treat to watch. Also, we have perhaps the best take on a recap episode I've ever seen. Production values are also quite good, so there's a lot of visual flair to go with the story. I was thoroughly entertained and easily recommend adding this to your collection.
