Impressions:
When I first got into Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, I remember a lot of comparisons being made to this series and I can see why. The premise alone is rather amusing, having the would-be conqueror of another world stuck at a minimum-wage job, living in a cheap apartment, and struggling to make ends meet. I can't decide if it would be funnier if Maou had the sort of high-and-mighty attitude you would expect from a demonic overlord. Then again, from a story standpoint, the fact that he's generally kind, humble and diligent person plays into the conflict of his more conscientious enemies. We have good dynamics going on with the steadily growing cast, to include characters from both our world and theirs. The triangle with Maou, Emi and Chiho is particularly good. Limitations on access to magic help control power levels until the major fight sequences, which keeps things from being too easy. All told, I found this to be rather enjoyable and would definitely recommend giving it a watch.
