Impressions:
I remember when I was first introduced to this series by my battle buddy returning from his first tour in Iraq. I got hooked and stuck with the series for quite a few years. Basically, if the first episode gets its hooks into you, you'll have a good time. I particularly appreciate how much is done here at the beginning with so little resources. Rooster Teeth would go on to become a rather large independent studio, but here it's mostly just some friends making funny videos with Halo. There's actually quite a bit of relatability for anyone who's been in the military (and it might stun and appall civvies to learn a show like this is more reflective of the military experience than pretty much any war movie out there). It's a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. If you watch it on DVD, the series is cut together as a single movie and it's a matter of opinion whether or not that style is preferable to the original format. There is some material that gets cut for editing purposes, so die-hard fans will want to consider watching it both ways. At very least, give it a watch, but I recommend adding it to your collection.
