Impressions:
Some of the old Christmas specials I enjoyed as a child don't quite hold up as well when viewed as an adult, but this is an exception to that. I've always like Chuck Jones as an animator and he does an excellent job of bringing Dr. Seuss' imaginative vision to life with the comic sensibilities that served him so well when he did his work for Warner Bros. Boris Karloff's narration is well-suited to the character of the Grinch and I have to also give a nod to Thurl Ravenscroft's performance of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch". As a reaction to the over-commercialization of Christmas, the message is nice, making for the kind of total package that has endured over the years. This is one I highly recommend adding to your collection, so if you don't have it, get it.
