Impressions:
You should already know my praise for the TV series, so when they teased this film at the season finale, I was definitely looking forward to it. 2020 being what it is, I wasn't all that eager to go to the theater, even for a film I wanted to see, but I decided to go for it and although ticket prices are high here in Japan, it was well worth it. The main gimmick of a dream trap is a great way to explore characters' psychologies, especially Tanjirou and Rengoku (while Inosuke and Zenitsu's dream worlds are played for comic relief). The production values of the TV series were already impressive and Ufotable really shows off what they can do with a feature budget. The action sequences are amazing (though there is a CG blob monster that's rather iffy). Some of the hardest punches go right to the feels as the story likes to tug at the ol' heartstrings. If you're a fan of the franchise, you're going to want to have this.
