Impressions:
As much as I enjoyed the TV series, I didn't feel that compelled to see this movie in the theaters. I imagined it would be good, but I wasn't sure if I was wanting to pay ticket price for it. However, now that I've seen it, I can whole-heartedly say that it's well worth the price of admission. The core story of Yuta's development into a jujutsu sorcerer and his relationship with Rika are quite rewarding. Given Yuta's personality at the start of the film and the fact that he's voiced by Megumi Ogata, comparisons to Shinji Ikari are inevitable, but for people who find Shinji too passive and wangsty, you'll appreciate that Yuta grows into more of a take-charge sort. For anime-only viewers like myself, it was nice to see Geto in action and explore his ideology. There are plenty of first-rate action set pieces that will keep the blood pumping. This film is the total package and not only for Jujutsu Kaisen fans but for just about anyone, it's well worth having.
