Impressions:
I'll admit that I'm one of the many people suffering from zombie fatigue. I didn't bother with this when it came out because I wasn't at all interested. However, when I did give it a shot, I thought it was okay as zombie movies go. It's no 28 Days Later, but it's alright. The plot ran on a lot of stupid. I mean, most zombie fiction requires a whole lot of stupid to reach critical mass quickly, but there's only so much you can take before you start to think humanity has it coming. While I admit that the waves of fast zombies piling up is freaky, it's also a bit silly, which isn't a good thing if you're trying to be taken seriously. I don't know how this stacks up to the source material, so I can't say how fans of Max Brooks' books will take the movie. Die-hard zombie fans will probably want to see it, but if you've had your fill of the undead, this isn't going to make you want more.
