Impressions:
I've enjoyed KonoSuba ever since I started watching it and the only thing that made me hesitate about going to see it in the theaters was that I didn't think it would quite warrant the ticket price here in Japan. Honestly, now that I've seen it, I think I was wrong about that. We get an appropriate scale of spectacle for the big screen, plenty of the sort of humor you've come to expect from the series and even a little poignancy. If you thought Megumin was something else with her chuunibyou antics, wait until you see a whole village of chuunibyou loonies. I rather liked the antagonist Slyvia, who was both a good source of comedy and honestly a bit more sympathetic than our heroes. (I love what that says about our protagonists when your heart is more inclined to go out to a servant of the Devil King.) Any fan of the series should enjoy this quite a bit. Certain humorless sorts may get a little hot under the collar, but there's no pleasing such people. I'd honestly say this is one for the collection. Give it a watch at least, but seriously consider making it a permanent addition.
