Impressions:
The previous film succeeded in getting me invested in the Jurassic Park franchise again and the premise for this sequel had my interest. There's no way for me to really get into the film without some spoilers, so if that bothers you, come back and read this review later. Okay, now that that's taken care of, let me say that I thought the original premise alone would have made a sufficiently compelling film, but that was only the first act. Most of the film involves a plot to exploit the dinos for nefarious ends, which feels a bit like a retread of The Lost World. It does continue a thread established in the previous film, but I would've been content putting that on the back burner for now, especially since there are plans for a third movie. Oh well. There are some good set pieces and some nice character moments. I also liked the design of the unfortunately named Indoraptor. This wasn't as good as its predecessor, but I don't feel it's quite as much of a step down as The Lost World was from the original Jurassic Park. I'd say it's worth watching, but if you got particularly enthused over the previous outing, you'll want to lower your expectations a bit if you want to enjoy yourself.
