Impressions:
Gravity made a big splash when it came out, nabbing quite a few Oscars among other awards. Cuarón is a well regarded filmmaker for a reason and his craftsmanship shows through here. There's more attention to detail than a lot of space movies (with most of the breaks deliberate choices) and I can appreciate the technical achievements in the film's visual effects. I didn't get invested in the characters enough to really feel much passion for the film, but there are no particular shortcomings in the writing or performances that I can think of. I guess some things just don't click for a person. Give it a shot and judge for yourself.
