The Prophecy: Uprising (2005)
Director: Joel Soisson
Starring: John Light, Sean Pertwee, Dan Chiriac
Synopsis:
A woman must protect a manuscript outlining the coming of the Antichrist from angels who seek to bring the prophecy into being.
Impressions:
Well, in the absence of Christopher Walken, you can be forgiven for walkin' right out. Sequelitis is in full effect here, but the movie's not a total waste. Some of the hosts for Belial make things rather interesting, and, hey, we've got Hellraiser's Doug Bradley, which is cool. You can see they tried to make some thematic connection with the Romanian location for the shoot, but it isn't as well-utilized as I would've liked. Riegert's character gets interesting when you uncover his true nature. I wouldn't be surprised if you passed on this one, but you may find there's just enough to make it worth a watch.
