Evolution (2001)

Synopsis:
A pair of college professors explore a meteor crash that results in a bloom of extraterrestrial life and clash with the government investigation, all while the alien organisms rapidly grow and adapt.
Impressions:
Take one part X-Files, one part Ghostbusters and mix into a soup of the early Aughts and you get this movie. It's not a great movie, but there are some good laughs to be had. David Duchovny and Orlando Jones work well together, Dan Akroyd is funny in his small role as the governor, and Ted Levine plays the obstructive military bureaucrat fairly well. I find Sean William Scott annoying, but he's seen as annoying in-universe as well, so there's that. The CG hasn't aged well, but the creature design can be fairly imaginative. You stand a good chance of enjoying yourself, but some of the humor may not be for you and it is an overall middling ride at the end of the game. Take it or leave it.
