Werewolf (1996)
[Arizona Werewolf]

Director: Tony Zarrindast
Starring: Jorge Rivero, Frederico Cavalli, Adrianna Miles
Synopsis:
A writer moves to Flagstaff, Arizona, after inheriting a house, only to find himself caught up in a werewolf outbreak.
Impressions:
Most people who have seen this movie probably saw it as I did, filtered through MST3K. So how is it without Mike and the bots' help. Well, in terms of writing, acting, effects (with the occasional exception where the creature stuff looks halfway decent), and more, there's pretty much nothing this movie has going for it. The core idea of spinning a horror story out of local folklore has some promise, but it doesn't really get capitalized on and you wouldn't really be able to distinguish this from any other werewolf story without the occasional Native chanting. You can't really get too mad at a low-budget production like this. It's fairly boring and not particularly well-made, but there's nothing outright detestable to it. If you like exploring low-budget fare, you might enjoy yourself. This is best enjoyed with Mike and the bots, though. Take that route and you have my full recommendation. Otherwise, take it or leave it.
