Ricochet (1991)
Director: Russell Mulcahy
Starring: Denzel Washington, John Lithgow, Ice-T
Synopsis:
A district attorney becomes the target of a hitman he put away back when he was a policeman.
Impressions:
This is one of those early 90s movies where the 80s hadn't quite worn off yet and it's all the more entertaining for it. Denzel Washington hadn't quite made it big yet, but if you're a fan of his, everything you like about him is on display here. John Lithgow always makes for an amusing villain and if you enjoy seeing him ham it up, you'll be happy with what you get. (Only in movieland could you actually pit John Lithgow against Jesse Ventura and expect us to take it seriously.) The Alan Silvestri score is the cherry on top if you ask me. Yes, it's cheesy and over-the-top, but it's an entertaining movie and if that's all you need, you'll want to be giving this one a watch.
